I’m Getting a MacBook Pro
For the past several months, I have had a thing for Apple and their products. It all started with my iPod Touch which I purchased in September, and have since wanted a MacBook Pro for video editing, and because the software available for the things that I want to do is awesome.
Well, I am now fortunate enough to be getting a MacBook Pro, which I will be taking with me for my trip to Palo Alto in May.
I will be doing the “whole shebang” when I get it; unboxing video, streaming, etc. Basically, all the usual!
Here’s the configuration:
- 2.5GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
- 2GB memory
- 300GB hard drive
- Double-layer SuperDrive
- NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT with 512MB
- Final Cut Express
- iWork ‘08
- .Mac
- 15″ Matte Display
I don’t regret choosing the matte display - in fact, I chose it because I like to travel a lot with my laptop, and found that the glossy display on my PC reflects way too much, and it gets annoying when you can’t see what you’re doing in the middle of the day.
Additionally, I am getting a 300GB hard drive to store my music, photos, and videos on, as well as for eventually installing Windows on. I’ll be Twittering the whole thing tomorrow - from the car ride to the Apple Store, to when I actually have it in my hands and am un-boxing it.
